The
USDA gives tremendous latitude in the labeling of "All Natural Beef".
The USDA requires only that the beef be minimally processed with no added
ingredients, to qualify as "All Natural Beef". A pretty low standard,
I agree. A standard low enough that is difficult to differentiate
from common commodity beef (well, I suppose that rules out the carbon monoxide),
I hope. But what about the beef BEFORE it is processed? That leaves room
for feed antibiotics, use of hormone and growth implants and perhaps other
practices.
I suppose
the moral of the story is, to examine what the label claims are, or more
importantly, what it does not claim. One thing is for certain, not all
natural beef is created equal. We at Colorado's Best Beef are passionate
about delivering a great product, and hold ourselves and our product to
a high standard. We do what we claim and we claim what we do.
